Who We Are

ABACUS is a student-run society with the aim of building a community for ANU students who are studying or are interested in anthropology, biological anthropology, archaeology and cultural heritage.

Our primary objectives are :
  1. To promote academic, social and cultural activities of common concern to members of ABACUS.
  2. To promote the pursuit of learning amongst the members of ABACUS.
  3. To foster fellowship and good working relations with groups including but not restricted to The School of Archaeology and Anthropology, Canberra Archaeological Society, lecturers and other societies of ANU.
  4. To, where deemed appropriate, act as an advocate for members to the university.

Where We Are

Our student room, "The Fishbowl", can be found in the eastern entrance of the Banks building and is open to all our members to relax, study, catch up or just find out what is happening.
